Roots of the Window Box I - Original

In both ‘Roots of The Window Box I’ and ‘Roots of The Window Box II’, a leaded-glass window is pictured on the side of a stucco-covered home. The plaster is beginning to fall away, revealing the stone armature beneath, supporting the entire structure. Below the window sits a flower box in full summer bloom. Out of the shadow of the box, a sacred prayer emerges in brown and alabaster white in ‘Roots of The Window Box I’, and in ‘Roots of The Window Box II,’ the beautiful words are multi-colored. The 6th Century Roman Half-uncial script whispers:

“Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make my heart like unto Thine.”

Both pieces are painted on a 24” x 48” canvas in acrylics, using a full summer-inspired color palette to convey the loveliness of the box, and their shadows whisper the quiet, yet profound message of humility. ‘Roots of The Window Box I’ is framed in a simple dark wood frame, and ‘Roots of The Window Box II’ is surrounded with a golden, but simple wooden frame. Both are finished with reverence, carrying its sacred truth for the glory of God.
