Description

From Hebrews 9:13, Revelation 4:8, Luke 22:19, Revelation 1:8, John 15:4
Lettered in 6th Century Roman script with liturgical symbols, this piece is painted on a 24” x 36” canvas and encased in a dark wood frame. Executed in acrylic using a full color palette to convey the layered message of God’s Word:

  • (I) The “Bread of Life” is centered on the Cross, alongside:
    “No longer the blood of bulls or of goats” (Hebrews 9:13)
    and
    “Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God” (Revelation 4:8).

  • (II) On the right arm of the Cross is the representation of wheat to be crushed:
    “This is My Body” (Luke 22:19).

  • (III) At the top of the Cross is written:
    “The Was, The Is, The Yet to Come” (Revelation 1:8).

  • (IV) On the left arm is the depiction of a cluster of grapes—crushed to produce wine:
    “Abide in Me and I in you” (John 15:4).

  • (V) At the lower portion of the Cross:
    “Worthy is the Lamb of God” (Revelation 1:8)
    is paired with a representation of The Unblemished Lamb.
