Pater Noster - Original

From the Latin “Our Father,” Matthew 6:9–13, the piece is executed in 6th Century Roman Half-uncial script on 18” x 24” Strathmore. This beige-colored paper is reminiscent of sheepskin, similar to that used for lettering the ancient writs in the early centuries following the Savior’s death and resurrection.

The piece is created using alabaster white, black, brown, and sepia India inks. It is double-matted in beveled cream and russet brown, then encased in a simple 2.0” black wooden 22” x 28” frame to accentuate the writ’s subtleties.
