Holy, Holy, Holy! - Original
From Hebrews 8:19, Micah 4:6–7, and Revelation 1:8, ‘Holy, Holy, Holy’ is the Hebrew translation of ‘Covenant Keeping God’ and is based on the founding scriptures of The Gate Community Church in Franklin, Tennessee. This piece is executed on a piece of 18” x 24” Strathmore. The beige-colored paper is reminiscent of sheepskin, evoking the materials once used for lettering the ancient writs in the early centuries following the Savior’s death and resurrection.
The background features the Etz Chaim, or Tree of Life, also known as the Torah, referred to by Christians as the Pentateuch, the first five books of the scriptures. The tree’s roots transition in color from alabaster white to golden, while its branches are adorned with small fruits or berries in varying shades of Israel blue.
Subtle hints of red berries appear among the fruit, prophetic tones ... representing the Blood of Jesus, our Lord and Savior who shed His own blood to set the captives free once and for all. The Etz Chaim becomes a prophetic representation or foreshadowing of the Cross itself.
Executed in alabaster white, blues, browns, gold leaf, reds, and sepia India inks, the piece is slightly raised on thin foam board and displayed on a black suede leather mat, styled in the manner of presenting antiquities. It is encased in a mildly ornate gold and black wooden 22” x 28” frame with a Museum Glass covering to preserve and highlight its intricate detail.
